I booked with motorhome republic, but I got the car from Elements, Auckland. I had an incredibly bad experience with the company.
I received a real old car, the fresh water pump was not working but was fixed when I pointed out. Also the gas stove and the coolbox were not working. The tyres profile was 1mm! and the mattress, the duvet and the pillows were like being used for ages.
After the first night there was a battery breakdown. I called elements, but they only told me to call the AA. I had to pay in advance, the refund from elements took about 4 weeks. The AA-officer told me the breakdown was because of the old battery and that the car stood too long before I took it.

Elements told me, it was "human error". But I´m absolutely sure I didn´t leave the lights on or something power consuming. It happenend a second time on a holiday park, where the car stood for 3 days. I lost two half days of valuable holiday time, but Elements refused to give me a discount or refund for the inconvenience.

All in all, it was the worst experience I ever had with a car rental company. I suggest to stay away from Elements.

Payment with Mastercard. This is a cautionary note for future customers given that the company (NZ office) did not manage to complete a MC transaction for me. The MC credit payment was declined, I checked with the bank - the account is in good standing and had no block. Reason for the decline -- MRepublic (now GoSee or something like that) did not follow the authorisation protocols - apparently new protocols for European/UK based accounts. Now at the time of the booking I was travelling near NZ - the site indicated I was NZ resident - I am not - the site indicated to go to the home page to change resident country - no such option on home page, emailed MRepublic told me that it was now fixed .. it was not fixed and my assumption is that because the NZ office indicated that I was NZ resident MC Europe required further security procedures. MRepublic failed repeatedly to indicate that they had tried to fix this - they merely threatened that the booking would be cancelled if another payment method (another card) was not selected. That threat got my back up of course given that there was absolutely no need for that action - basically if you deal with this company you are dealing with a corporation - absolutely no personal touch - but the operators were polite at all times - polite but it appears doing very little. So if you are going to book perhaps make sure that you make the booking from your residential IP address.

I spoke with Marius, and he provided the best service I have ever experienced from any motorhome/car rental company. If all salespeople were like Marius, I would enjoy renting motorhomes/cars much more.

There are two reasons why Marius was great:

1) He was incredibly competent. He knew all the tiny technical details and could even identify places where the website was incorrect about certain information.
2)He really cares about customer service. My phone lost signal multiple times, but Marius kept calling me back. Moreover, I had a few technical questions about the car that only the sub-renting company DRM could answer. Marius took my questions to DRM and returned to me with answers as soon as possible.

Marius, keep up the good work! Us customers appreciate it :D

we rent RV from motorhome and I definetely recomment this for renting RV whenever you need. they are very helpful and understanding and present you best advices and options what you need.

They have cancelled my request for renting an RV due to availability problems. While rejecting the request, they proposed me some different options that, according to them, were available. I took one of those options right away and they eventually rejected it also for the same reason: availability (which they had previously checked in the beginning). This whole process has happened already 5 TIMES!!!

Of course, every alternative option they propose to you is MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE than the previous one...

Just to be more specific, all 5 request were made through the company FRASERWAY and 4 SEASONS, I guess that is a great part of the problem.

This company is an absolute SCAM, NOT AT ALL SERIOUS and a total WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. I encourage you to go check other websites instead of this one.

We had to change the booking and we had no issues at all in doing so. Giving plenty of notice I believe is key to this being a good experience.

I made a Motorhome reservation for the 13th of March in the year 2020. My reference number is IM32493864. I want to make a claim because I am sending emails and calling the company since 2020 and they don't give me any answer.
Due to the pandemic the company Motorhome Republic cancelled my reservation of 1.467,30 US$.
After months I supposedly got a refund to my bank account. The problem is that the transaction never hit the bank. I have communicated with my personal account executive and we reviewed the last 3 years of income and never reflected the refund of the Motorhome Republic payment. WellsFargo informed me that the problem is the company's problem, so I have been calling the last month and they informed me that the refund was made, but it was never successful. That is why I decided to file a complaint and call a lawyer together with Wells Fargo bank. Several years passed and Motorhome republic never took care of this scam so we decided to SUE the company. I have requested even a credit note in acknowledgement of the debt and no response.
I hope that you will take my complaint into consideration if not I promise to scold you on all the social networks and this situation will be brought to justice.
